When I look back at the trip as a whole, this was only one day out of nine. Every single day was as meaningful as this one, but in this particular instance, I really have to credit the prison system for allowing this to happen. Not only did they permit me to come in and document this experience, they’ve recognized the impact skateboarding has made on these children and they’ve allowed that success to resonate throughout the prison walls.
